Scarborough lost the toss and were put into bowl/field by Centurions. A fantastic effort once again in the field by the whole team restricting Centurions to 86 all out in the 39th over. All the bowlers and wicketkeeper performed so well keeping the run rate down to just over 2 an over. This is the 2nd game in succession reducing the opposition to less than 90 for their innings which lays the foundations for the batsmen to follow.
George Pullinger (100 Ret. Not out off 116 balls, 10 x 4's) and Neil Erasmus (100 not out off 137 balls, 12 x 4's). Jayden Mitchell also came in at No4 and scored a steady 32 off 34, unselfishly ensuring Neil Erasmus completed his century just before the close of innings. 2 incredibly strong partnerships between Pullinger (retired) and Erasmus, then Erasmus and Mitchell amassed 234 runs without the loss of a wicket. SCC finished 1 for 246 off their allotted 50 over's.
It has been an encouraging start by all the players, coaching and support team, the second half will undoubtedly throw up many more challenges which the boys will need to be well prepared for. The most pleasing aspect of the season to date is the camaraderie and mateship that the team has developed, one of the great things about team sport.
Onto the next game................................
